What are your goals for the year 2019?

I used to be an avid reader. The love of reading started very early for me. An early memory, around the age of five, involves me anxiously waiting for my monthly book haul in the mail. It was a true delight, and I am grateful for parents who encouraged my enthusiasm for reading. What are some of your earliest memories? I know a two-year-old boy who loves to play the drums, and the joy on his face is the sweetest thing. I wonder if he will continue this love or will it be a distant memory as he grows? Is one of your goals to get back to your original love/hobby?

Life happens. We grow up, and everything else is more important than our hobbies. Of course, we handle responsibilities, but there is a space for rest and relaxation as well. My days are filled with countless adventures due to theroles of being a military wife and mother to a two-year-old daughter. I am constantly learning how to better balance everything which has been the key to not becoming overwhelmed.

This year, I will put my feet up and read. This year, I will balance my time well. This year, I will delve deeper into books for growth, learning, and enjoyment. The first emphasis on growth and learning will always be spiritual for me which includes daily Bible reading. Starting my day off with prayer and reading the Word of God provides a sense of strength and peace for the rest of the day. What is something that you do every single day to start your day off right?

Join me as I begin my reading journey goal. I will read books of various genres including: classics, inspirational, biographies, and other fiction. I believe there is something that can be learned from almost any piece of literature. Sometimes you learn lessons to follow, while other times you learn lessons to shun. Either way, a great joy of reading is allowing the literature to transport you to a place or a period of time.  Comment below some of your goals and/or recommended reading for the year 2019.

My first book is the classic Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. I look forward to delving into this classic, and exploring my thoughts about it.
